Lisa Zahn is a graduate of Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota.  She taught in the Gettysburg School district as band director from 1994-2000, then choir director from 2000-2003.  Mrs. Zahn joined the Mobridge-Pollock School District in 2003 as an elementary music teacher.  Since then, she has taught music at nearly every grade level in the school district. She currently teaches general music in grades 4 and 5  and also directs the Tiger Music choir, middle school, and high school choirs.
 
Mrs. Zahn’s singers have been selected for SD Elementary Honor Choir, SD Virtual Choirs, SD-ACDA  Junior and Senior Honor Choirs, NAfME National Honor Choir, and ACDA Regional and National Honor Choirs. Mrs. Zahn's high school choirs have received superior ratings at large group music contest for 20consecutive years. 
 
Mrs. Zahn is a member of various professional organizations including the South Dakota Education Association, the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and its federated state association, SDMEA.  Mrs. Zahn served as President of SDMEA from 2012-2014 and was instrumental in organizing the state music education conference during that time. She has been a staff member with the South Dakota (formerly Mid-West) Ambassadors of Music European Tour since 2011 and served as accompanist for the choir on the 2017 and 2019 tours. In April 2018, Mrs. Zahn was presented with the 2018 Mary Ludeman Teacher of the Year award for the Mobridge-Pollock School District. In May 2018, she was named the South Dakota Department of Education Region 4 Teacher of the Year. 
Mobridge-Pollock has been a host site for SDMEA Festival Choir for several years, and in March of 2020, she served as the Festival Choir guest director for the Mobridge site.
 
Mrs. Zahn’s husband, Bryan, is a physical education and health teacher in the Mobridge-Pollock School District. They have two children, Jordan, at technician with Anderson Brothers Equipment, and Megan, a sophomore nursing major at the University of Mary.
