Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and announcing Regional Teachers of the Year



PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard has proclaimed May 7-11 Teacher Appreciation Week in South Dakota.



“When we take the time to really reflect on the vital impact of teachers, one week seems entirely too short a time to set aside to celebrate them,” said Secretary of Education Don Kirkegaard. “Please seek out a teacher this week, whether one of your own or one of your child’s teachers, and say thank you. Then, strive to make that a year-round habit.”

Mobridge-Pollock Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Congratulations to Nathan Bauer and Dylan Cerney on signing national letters of intent. Nathan will be attending Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa where he will major in pre-med and wrestle. Dylan will be attending Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. Dylan will major in pre-med and play football.

43rd Annual Art Show

The 43rd Annual Art show took place in Mobridge at Scherr Howe Arena on Saturday April 8 and Sunday April 9th. There were over 500 pieces of art on display in both adult and student divisions. Grandparent Essay Contest Winner: 5th Grader Grace Overland

Fifth graders from Mobridge-Pollock, Selby Area, and Timber Lake entered the Grandparent Essay Contest. Grace Overland was awarded first place and received a medal. Molly Miller from Timber Lake was the second place winner, and David StallKamp from Selby Area was the third place winner. Congratulations to all students who entered and were winners. Thank you to teachers who encouraged the students to write about someone important in each of their lives. Writing is such an important skill in all areas, and good writing skills greatly affect the learning process. The Retired School Personnel group thanks you!
